I’ve struggled for some years with decay, I know we all do. It’s one thing that’s for sure. We take the parts we like to see, what a very human response, it’s quite a way to be. | Sanctified memory, forever in reverie like everyone else does. The story inside of me, a book of straight heresy like everyone else does. | The mind’s eye picture takes a certain hue, and visiting just makes a mess. Distorting all we thought we knew as true, life story is blending with the rest.
I’m the king of a palace of memory caught speeding down my childhood streets, stuck in a mirror maze I see myself hold a sharpie cardboard sign says help, I’m lost again. Like a secret I can’t tell no one else, family photobook fell off the shelf open up to the middle empty page somehow I can only see my face, I’m stuck again. Feels like a secret I hold a piece of, no one else does.
